A student housing modular concept for the Amsterdam University College designed with a total of 15 containers: 5 cores and 10 studio-housing modules stacked up to 3 levels.
The proposed masterplan is in the Science Park, Netherlands, Amsterdam which is provided with landmarks and viewpoints easily access from the site. the design arrangement was planned according. With a design which encourages each student to have their own private space by occupying roughly 45% of a full container with all the required appliances: fully-fitted kitchen module; private shower room; studying and resting spaces. All public/common spaces are kept outdoors: this design method was purposed in response to isolation architecture.
The objective was to recycle shipping containers: the use of recycled/recyclable materials was predominant therefore the choice of using timber and laminated wood for interior finishes. These materials would be locally sourced.
